Citation

 A citation simply represents a reference to a specific entity. Within a web context the use of Citation usually means a HREF link to a location. The count of which is the count of references to a page on the internet. Certain search engines work on the theory that pages with high Citation counts are indeed the best. However, this is now in reality thought to be only 65% true; as using modern affiliate and promotion programs, and activities Citations can be also generated by some sites in mass quantities.
